Strawberry productivity in Afghanistan reached nearly 300 tons in the following year

The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock says, Afghanistan produced around 300 tons of ground berries in this year .

According the news release which has been published by Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, the information from department of statistic shows that in 2020, 299 tons strawberry produced all over the country. Herat has produced 155 tons of strawberries with 31 hectares of cultivated land. After Herat, Kunduz and Balkh provinces also had the highest production last year. strawberries are also cultivated in Faryab, Daikundi, Sar-e-Pul and Maidan Wardak provinces.

Afghanistan's climate is favorable for growing strawberries, and for several years now, the cultivation of this fruit has been promoted among the people.

strawberry is one of the fruits which is rich in vitamins and nutrients and is sold in the market for up to two hundred Afghanis per kg.
